so i keep hearing T3 is total shit and shouldn't even be considered. what do you folks think? i wanted to keep my safetys open to t3 schools in la, if ucla and my og safetys donmt work out (pepp/uci). thank you.

People say it's decent. Generally speaking, I don't think it's as bad as other T3 schools. It has some good pull in LA, but nothing elsewhere. I didn't go there for the same reasons you mentioned, and instead went to a T2 school out of state. The T2 in that city actually had worse job prospects than southwestern in LA, so don't buy in too much to the rankings after the top 20-30, certainly not after top 50. If I had to do it over, I would have taken LSAT again and shot for top 14 or a lower ranked school with a scholarship that was guaranteed and keeping it was not based on 1L grades.

I agree with "been there" for the most part. As an LA resident, I've met a few attorneys from there and in this town, it's a well known and reputable school, but I would think it's due to the high rate of attorneys that come out of there and settle here in town. I mentioned looking at SW to a friend the other day and he gave me that, "ooh" look, like it was a great school or something. I didn't say anything.  Perception is everything around here. Lol.
